What is the Level 2 Adult Social Care certificate?
The certificate is embedded throughout the apprenticeship. It’s a mandatory requirement of the programme. You will usually complete the certificate by Month 9 of the apprenticeship.
The certificate covers the core knowledge and standards needed for safe and effective adult social care practice. It includes topics such as:
- Safeguarding
- Communication
- Equality and inclusion
- Health and safety
- Person-centred care
The awarding organisation for the certificate is RoSPA.
Does the Level 2 Adult Social Care apprenticeship have an End-Point Assessment (EPA)?
No. This apprenticeship does not include an independent End-Point Assessment (EPA).
Instead, you’ll complete the required qualification and demonstrate competence throughout the programme using:
- Workplace evidence
- Reflective activities
- Assignments
- Professional discussions
This means that, by the end of the programme, you’ll have done all that’s required to complete it successfully.
What support do Level 2 Adult Care apprentices receive?
Learners on this programme receive regular support and help throughout the programme from a Development Coach with care sector expertise and experience. They’ll give you guidance, feedback, and coaching to help you progress confidently through your apprenticeship.
You’ll also be supported with:

What is off-the-job training?

What are the entry requirements for the Level 2 Adult Care apprenticeship?
To enrol on the programme, learners must:
- Be aged 16 and over
- Be employed in England with a valid Contract of Employment
- Have lived in the UK, EEA, or EU for at least the last 3 years
- Complete an enhanced DBS check before beginning the programme
