Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths

This programme is a nationally recognised Level 2 Maths qualification, designed to help learners strengthen core numeracy skills for work, study, or everyday life. It combines self-directed online learning with optional monthly group sessions and one-to-one support to ensure learners are fully prepared for assessment.

The programme is ideal for individuals aged 19+ who want to improve their maths skills to progress to higher-level qualifications, apprenticeships, or enhance employability. It is particularly suited to learners who prefer a flexible, self-directed learning approach with structured guidance.

The programme runs for 12 weeks, allowing learners to study flexibly while accessing tutor support and monthly group sessions. This structure ensures learners can progress at a pace that suits them while staying fully prepared for the exam.

Learners develop essential maths skills, including:

• Numeracy: fractions, percentages, ratios, problem-solving, and data interpretation
• Practical application of skills for work, study, and everyday life

The programme is delivered primarily online via our learning platform, combining self-directed study with tutor guidance, one-to-one support, and optional monthly group sessions. Learners also have access to online resources, workbooks, and feedback throughout the 12 weeks.

Learners begin with an induction meeting via MS Teams to get familiar with the programme and resources. Over the 12 weeks, they follow a largely self-directed learning schedule supported by one-to-one tutor guidance. Optional monthly group sessions provide additional support, feedback, and opportunities to consolidate learning. Mock exams and targeted revision are included before the final assessment.

Assessment is completed through a TQUK-accredited online exam with remote invigilation. Learners also complete practice activities, mock exams, and receive tutor feedback to ensure full preparation for the final assessment.

Learners must achieve a minimum Entry Level 3.5 at initial assessment and complete diagnostic assessments via Pass Functional Skills before starting. A PC or laptop with reliable internet access is required.

Learners receive full tutor guidance, one-to-one support, weekly feedback, access to online resources, and optional monthly group sessions. Daily support is available via phone, Teams, or email.

Enrolment is straightforward. Register interest or add the course to your basket, and our team will contact you to confirm eligibility, answer questions, and provide guidance. Learners then begin the 12-week programme with full support.

Once you’ve enrolled and completed payment, your place is secured, but your course may not start immediately. This is because the Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths is delivered in cohorts, which start every quarter (four times a year).

A cohort is a group of learners who all start the course together and move through the programme at the same pace. Each cohort is delivered virtually and includes a maximum of 30 learners, allowing for structured learning, tutor support, and group interaction.

The Functional Skills Level 2 Maths programme costs £499 + VAT per learner.

The programme is delivered in virtual cohorts of up to 30 learners, providing a structured and supportive learning environment. The cost is £499 + VAT per learner, payable in two instalments: 50% at enrolment and 50% after four weeks.
