Level 4 Learning and Skills Mentor Apprenticeship
Course Overview
The Level 4 Learning and Skills Mentor apprenticeship develops professionals who support individuals and groups in achieving their learning and development goals. Over 16 months, learners build the knowledge, behaviours and tools needed to mentor effectively in diverse workplace settings.
Training is delivered through a blend of face-to-face and online learning, tailored following an initial assessment of learning styles and needs. The Learning and Skills Mentor apprenticeship curriculum covers equality and safeguarding, mentoring theory and models, structured learning environments, communication strategies, and sustainable mentoring. Learners are encouraged to reflect on their practice and maintain continuous professional development throughout the programme.
Assessment is through an independent End Point Assessment (EPA), typically involving observation, professional discussion and a portfolio of evidence. On completion, learners become capable, reflective mentors who can embed professional growth within their organisations and create long-lasting impact.
